The story "Yendry" will tell you is that she and her brother were left on the doorstep of an orphanage when she was two and her brother, Alender, was only a few months old. Little is known as to why they were abandoned, but it is assumed they born into a neglectful family as they were said to be given away without names. Nevertheless, they ended up being adopted by a loving Hyur couple half a year later, when she was three and he was one. Due to their parents belonging to a group known as a Coven, the siblings both grew up to gain an affinity for plant-based magic and healing, though this also could have happened due to their father being known as a botanist and potion maker and their mother being known as a healer. The two began to learn and hone their skills together, and during their teenage years, the siblings explored their mutual love of herbal healing by spending hours upon hours poring over their parent’s books on the study. Due to the tragedy of losing their parents to a faulty boat on stormy seas, the siblings threw themselves into studying healing, and eventually, Yendry found her niche of making potions to heal the body whilst Alender found his love of creating magically enhanced teas to soothe the mind.During her time spent tending to flowers and other lovely plants, Yendry began to appreciate the beauty in everything – and everyone. Good segue? I hope so, I’m rolling with it. Yendry was fifteen when she realized that she was pansexual, though it was more that she simply found out the name for how she had always been and felt. It was when she was halfway through her sixteenth year, however, that she really began to care about her sexuality. Yendry had taken a trip to the Gridanian marketplace to restock on several supplies that could only be found there, and found a friend and nice conversation in a Roegadyn flower vender who called herself Rose. Even though Yendry had already finished her shopping, she found herself enamored by this tall woman and felt herself drawn to her, not being able to halt their conversation. Their conversation was halted for them, however, when the skies opened, and rain began to pour. People all around her began to scream and laugh and seek shelter, and Yendry found herself being pulled by the wrist into the safety of Rose’s tent, where the two spent the rest of the evening continuing their conversation as rain poured around them. When Yendry went back to the coven, she found herself missing Rose and cursing herself for not just taking a chance on someone that she had a connection with. So, rather than mourn her lost chance, she went back the next day and asked Rose to dinner.From then on, the two were inseparable. They became the perfect duo over the years, moving into the coven cottage together after two years, and becoming very successful in their little tonic shop when they travelled. When Yendry was 19 and Rose was 20, the two travelled to a secluded meadow just outside of Gridania, and Rose proposed to her with a silver m ring containing a little flower encased in a drop of amber. A year later, the two married in a peaceful little ceremony in that same meadow, relishing in the blooming flowers of springtime, as well as the butterflies attempting to land on the clipped white flowers decorating Yendry’s long blue gown and elaborate bouquet. Their simple silver wedding bands went perfectly with Rose’s white satin pantsuit and their shared love of shiny things. The ceremony went flawlessly, and Yendry made sure to throw her bouquet directly at Alender’s face, then shoved him in the direction of his friend James so that the two could dance around each other just like they’d been doing for the entirely of their way-too-close-to-just-be-friends friendship.After the wedding, a week of peace was spent in Gridania as a honeymoon, during which Yendry would often travel to Gridania’s tavern with her brother and her new wife, where the three frequently went to watch the poetry and attempt to convince Alender to read his own. But all things must end, and Yendry, Rose, and Alender soon found themselves coming back to the coven in order to live peacefully with their likeminded friends and family. Unfortunately, no one could foresee the tragedy that would soon rage through their home, taking the lives of several Coven members, including Yendry’s brother and wife, with it. Due to this horrible tragedy shaking the core of Yendry’s world, she abandoned the Coven and chose to live in Gridania instead, supposedly running her little tonic shop on her own to attempt to keep herself working towards something. Currently, Yendry is 27, and after seeing a flyer for its reopening, Yendry has returned to the Coven in order to find answers, closure, and quite possibly, vengeance.
